Oracle Clinical and RDC upgraded to 5.4.0
We have been offering Oracle Clinical and RDC 5.0.1 software access as part of our Clinical Data Management and Oracle Clinical courses, as well as through our Oracle Clinical – software access subscription service. This has allowed learners to get 24×7 access to the software as part of their programs and help them practically work on the software to get valuable hands-on practical experience.
Today we announce that we have completed our upgrade to Oracle Clinical and RDC latest version 5.4.0 which brings with it new features, improved cross borrower compatibility as well as support for new regulations.
Nuances of Oracle Clinical and RDC 5.0
One of the nuances of Oracle Clinical 5.0 was the limited support for browsers as it only supported Internet Explorer 11 and below. There were couple of problems with using this version:
- Most learners use Windows 10 which comes with Internet Explorer Edge as default which was not supported by Oracle Clinical 5.0
- It required tinkering with compatibility mode and settings to make it work with Internet Explorer 11
- Most users have adopted Google Chrome which did not support Oracle Clinical 5.0
- Oracle Clinical 5.0 was not updated with recent regulations
With the upgrade to Oracle Clinical and RDC 5.4.0 all of these issues have been fixed thus allowing learners to access the most updated version of Oracle Clinical being used in the industry and being in sync with the industry requirements.
Updated Features of Oracle Clinical 5.4.0
Oracle released the new version 5.4.0 that addresses new regulatory compliance requirements, several functional enhancements, enhanced user experience and critical technology updates for the technology stack.
Here are some of the features of the newly deployed Oracle Clinical and RDC 5.4.0:
Technology Stack Upgrade: To ensure the longevity of the supported technology stack, now Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are supported browsers in Oracle Clinical and RDC Onsite. Minimum database requirements are Oracle Database 19c and Weblogic server 12.2.1.4.
Deleted but Not Re-entered CRFs: Patients that have deleted but not re-entered CRFs can be identified and a report to view audit history for these CRFs can be generated
Enhanced Patient Data Report (PDR): Includes ancillary pages by default. PDRs include audit history, investigator comments, and overflow footnotes. Optionally, verification history can be also included for any CRF where applicable
Ability to Define Custom Review Requirements: Custom review requirements for each CRF in a study can be identified, for example Data Management Review. Hence, Data Managers will see the “Review Required” indicator for each CRF that requires review according to the specifications
